Are you a smoothie person?

There’s almost nothing easier than throwing a bunch of superfoods into a blender, press a button, and have a delicious, frothy milkshake come out.

I didn’t do smoothies well when I first started my weight loss journey.

They always seemed either too icy, too milky, too green, too sweet… there’s a bit of a learning curve!

Well now I have conquered the smoothie and make them at least 4 mornings per week.

Usually I add two heaping bunches of spinach to the blender, and then add superfoods like chia seeds, flaxseed, hemp seeds, ice, water, and protein powder to the blender. ┬áMmm… green smoothie perfection.

This morning I was fresh out of greens (no!!), but I wanted to pack tons of nutrients into this smoothie because I’ll be out fishing with the hubby and will probably have to skip lunch, or else just have a nut bar or something easy to pack in my vest.

Without futher ado, here’s the recipe for this OUTRAGEOUS┬áVegan Vanilla Nut Milkshake!

Vegan Vanilla Nut Milkshake

Serves 2


  • 2 Scoops Vanilla Protein Powder (I use Vega Vegan Protein Powder)
  • 2 Tbsp Hemp Seeds
  • 2 Tsp Flaxseed
  • 2 Tsp Chia Seeds
  • 1 Tbsp Almond Butter
  • 1 Cup Almond Milk
  • 1 Cup Filtered Water
  • 1 Cup Ice


Blend everything together until seeds look like little flecks in the shake and are easy to drink.

If you need to add more ice or water, go right ahead!

All of these ingredients are packed with healthy fats, nutrients like Omega-3 Fatty Acids, protein, fiber, antioxidants, and more!
