What's REALLY In Your Tea?...

What’s REALLY In Your Tea?…

Couple drinking tea on beach

Surely you’ve heard about green tea for weight loss.  It’s hailed on television, in magazines, and even by your own family doctor.
Green tea has been hailed in China and Japan for centuries as a healthful tea to extend the life, without expanding the waistline.

One of the reasons green tea is recognized as a natural health miracle is because of this amazing antioxidant: Epigallocatechin-3-Gallate, or EGCG.

EGCG is a catechin polyphenol, or a type of antioxidant found in green tea.

Scientists have linked EGCG to a lower risk of:

  • Heart Attack & Stroke
  • High Cholesterol
  • Glaucoma

And it has also been linked to improving:

  • Fat oxidation
  • Obesity Prevention
  • Exercise Performance
  • Metabolism

In fact, EGCG is said to even be replacing weight loss drugs, such as ephedra!

But beware, if you’re drinking green tea in hopes of getting EGCG, you may want to know a couple things first…

Deception On Store Shelves…

Tea has a variety of benefits, but the most significant ones come from its powerful antioxidants.

But many grocery store teas contain little to NO antioxidants in them at all!

ConsumerLab.com found that EGCG levels in bottled green tea may be only 4-47 mg per cup.

They found that home-brewed tea contains only 25-86 mg per serving.

In fact, certain Snapple and Honest Teas claimed to have a whopping 190 mg of EGCG, but were found to have only about 60 percent of that.

Plus, these bottled brews are often loaded with fake sugars… or even corn syrup!  Yuck!

Are You Leaching Hazardous Chemicals Into Your Cup?

It’s not enough to worry about whether or not you’re leaching harmful pesticides into your cup.

But many tea bags are made with synthetic chemicals like nylon, thermoplastic, PVC, or polypropylene.

These tea bags aren’t going to melt in your glass, but the molecules in the synthetic chemicals begin to break down in the hot water.

This may cause you to leach scary compounds into your teacup!

Paper tea bags are no better.

They are often treated with epichlorohydrin.

When epichlorohydrin meets water, it leaches a carcinogen that has been linked to infertility and a weakened immune system.

How To Protect Yourself From Harmful Teas…

Sometimes I don’t know what’s worse: chemicals in tea… or false marketing that touts tea and it’s benefits.

A lot of people make a LOT of money selling snake oil, and that’s a real shame!

When YOU drink tea, make sure you choose tea from a company that takes pride in their product.

SlimTea has been tested for antioxidants like catechins.

In fact, SlimTea Capsules have 500 milligrams of polyphenols!  40% of those are EGCG.

SlimTea has also been linked to:

  • Lower Blood Pressure
  • Diabetes Prevention
  • Lower Risk of Breast, Colon, Lung, Ovarian, and Prostate Cancers
  • Fat Oxidation
  • Acne Prevention
